Where they lived
- The Mohawks are the original people of New York State.
- Some Mohawk people still live in New York today, but most Mohawks went to Canada in the 1700's.
- The Mohawks were the original people of the Iroquois Confederation.
How they gathered food.
- They were farming people.
- They grew corn, beans, squash, and harvested wild berries and herbs.
- Used bows and arrows to hunt with, spears and fishing poles to fish with, and fought with bows and arrows, clubs, spears and shields.
